SOPHOMORES: The Satellites Our class represented itself well, both academically and athletically. The majority of the class participated in either volleyball or football, but only four were on the basketball teams. Jeff and Randy were starters in the Freshman Sophomore Tournament, and Jeff was chosen as alternate for the 3200 meter relay team at the State Track Meet. This is the first year that every class member lettered in sports. All four girls were in Pep Club. We were well represented at both the Conference and NTCC Academic Contests. Brenda earned second place ratings in both contests. We also were active in the Conference Art Contest, Conference and District Speech Contests, Band, Chorus and the Fall Play. Our class had the distinction of having two Class Sponsors, Mrs. Navratil and Mrs. Heitoff. We held a cake raffle, ran the concession stand, sponsored the Sweetheart Dance and collected aluminum cans. We all had the honor of serving at Prom. The climax of our year was selecting and ordering our class rings. Our entire class was active in J.V. sports, and Amy, Rene and Lisa made up three-fifths of the girls bas- ketball team; needless to say, they all lettered. Gina received the Most Improved Track Award for the girls. Some of us participated in the conference and NTCC Academic Contests, and all of us in the conference and District Speech Contests. Gina received a Superior at both Speech Contests. Some of us were in the Fall and One-Act Plays, and our class wrote and produced an original Christmas play, which we performed for the entire student body and the Senior Citizens. Lisa and Gina shared the Best Actress Award for 1985. To raise class funds, we held a cake raffle and a paper drive, and we ran the Concession stand during a home game. We also co-spon- sored the Sweetheart Dance in February. We think this year was great, and now that we've Gotten our feet wet, we know next year will be even better.
