19 7 8 - YESTERDAY once more Here it is! YESTERDAY once more. Your yearbook from the great year of 1978 It is a book of dreams as well as a book of memories As the grade school kids read it their eyes shine and they think someday Someday I will be a big quarterback, star of the basketball team, have lead in a play be a cheerleader, dancing at the prom Someday I will be in high school Then we, the high school read it as it brings back memories of YESTERDAY. The football games on those cold fall nights the assemblies, detention hall after school the short noon hours, comparing lateness of after-party hours the feverish preparation for a school play and the lazy hum of study halls. We learned too, besides the Chemistry and English absorbed, we learned the meaning of friendship. We made mistakes and learned from them. The hopes, disappointment, the silly fun and the proud-grown-up feeling of the seniors at graduation. We have tried to put them all in this book for you. So, we give this book of YESTERDAY, hoping you will enjoy reading it as much as we had living it! Mr. Cunnigham DEDICATION The 1978 Annual Staff would like to dedicate this yearbook to Mr. Cunningham, who has been an inspiration to all who have known and met him. His services here as being our teacher, girl's track coach and student counselor, are all greatly appreciated. His loyalty to P.H.S. and unceasing efforts in making it a finer school educationally will be remembered as we look back to yesterday. We wish him the best of luck always in the future. We started out by purchasing new warm-up bottoms for the boy's basketball team. We also bought new display boards for both the boy's and girl's track teams. These are displayed in the gym. The P-Club's main money-making project was the Frosh-Soph. Boy's Basketball Tournament held in January. This tournament will now be held annually, sponsored by the P-Club. We also made money by selling purple windbreakers. Our main event of the year is the Athletic Banquet. Besides sponsoring the banquet, the P-Club also gives awards to the most valuable and the most improved athletes in all sports. 42 SPONSORED by Standard Chemical Manufacturing Co. Conrad M.
