Thursday CP ' ISON FRIDAY CRIMSON THURSDAY 1 Crimson Thursday was “The Day for fourteen homecoming candidates and five “Football Sweethearts.” It put an end to days of practice and anticipation. The Homecoming Pageant was held on November 7, 1974. Each girl was required to wear a costume indicative of the club she represented, a gown of her choice and to answer one •unrehearsed question. Each girl also gave a thirty-second speech about her particular club. The Homecoming Queen candidates were Gayle Barfield (ART CLUB), Joyce Bozeman (PEP CLUB), Debbi Chatman (FBLA), Grace Dailey (SCIENCE CLUB), Kay Hardy (DEC A). Yolanda Hayden (MODERN DANCE), Coco Sheffield (SPANISH CLUB), Linda Stallings (FRENCH CLUB), Pauline Stith (INDUSTRIAL ARTS), Lee Turner (CHESS CLUB), Gloria Walker (FHA) and Debbi Wicks (NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY), The Football Sweethearts were Sherene Dent, Francine Cole, Lynn Rainey, Glynice Coleman and Jayne Angell. Crimson Friday — A visitor to P.H.S might have felt an air of excitement, hard work and tension. Last minute preparations were underway. Many classes became float factories turning out an assortment of signs, paper flowers and chicken wire creations. Students could be found in the parking lots assembling floats It was not surprising at all to see students in the halls, leaving to buy materials or, , , Mrs. Hollins at the funeral home to get some artificial grass. Amidst mass confusion, we were able to have a special lunch period for the team. They were treated to cake, punch and ice cream by Mr Sublet f pep rally in the auditorium closed ttu day. The almighty spirit of PHS came forth putting everyone in high spirit for the upcoming game The game against Meadowbrook w.i the deciding factor for the Central District title. The Crimson Wave w r by a score of 20- 1 3. The Crimson Waves are new CENTRAL DISI Ru CHAMPS bringing a joyous end . . . Crimson Friday '
