Math Keeps With Changing World It has been predicted that in ten years our math system will be revolutionized! From the study of simple addition to the most involved theories of calculus, the math department under the leader- ship of Mr. Burton Alexander endeavors to provide the student with confidence in his ability. This year there is a staff of math teachers especially trained to show and teach math for those enrolled in the business course. As today ' s modern world is rapidly increasing in complexity, the program is offered to compete with the progression. Mr. Alexander stresses the importance of trigonometry to his students. Science: Discovery Th rough Experimentation An odor coming from the chemistry lab travels throughout the third floor, making many wonder what it is. Individual and group experiments are essential not only in chemistry, but also in physics. Testing the pupil ' s knowledge and ability, physics culmi- nates the science curriculum of biolo- gy, advanced biology, and chemistry. The science depa rtment, headed by Mr. Jerome Batts, facilitates an accu- rate interpretation of reality. To introduce indiviuuals to the ultimate values of science, teachers have acquired overhead projectors and new equipment. Kent Yandle and Dully Barney watch as Mr. Gore demonstrates circular motion. m Amid the contusion, Mrs. Swinton helps chemistry students prepare their experiments. Students are awed by crystals exhibited by the math and science departments. 24
