Band The b nd which was organized e rly in the fall consists of fourteen members It is making splendid progress and the school is proud of it Organized and directed by Mr Long,the band presented concerts at Petersburg High School and at Alex ndria High School Cantata On December 19, 1946 the girls Glee Club presented a Christ mas Csntata,'The Childs Jesus' by Joseph Clokey and Hazel Kirk The cantata depicts the coming and destroying of Jesus. The soloists were: Winlfred Hawn,Joyce HcG1nn1s,El1zabeth Mcmannus and Janet Ross. Girls Glee Club Our Girls Glee Club includes nearly all the girls of the High School The activities of the organization include the pre sentation of the Christmas Cantata,sing1ng of the operetta in the spring and music for commencement The Glee Club is making very good progress with Mr John Long, director Boys Glee Club The Boys Glee Club consists of seventeen members These boys meet every Thursday for rehearsal They are participating in the operetta Mr Long is directing them 28 Q o u 1 ii.. v ... ..,... .A . o a Q o s
