Junior Class Histor On August 29, 1955, sixty-two bewildered freshman stepped through the doors of Petersburg Harris High School into a new world of higher knowledge. To lead them toward their distant goal, they chose for President, Polly Sutton, Vice-President, Don Shawgog Secretary, Bill Grosbollg Treasurer, Sandra Trenaryg 'and Student Council Representative, Marilyn Chester. To help and advise them during their first year in high school, they had as sponsors, Mrs. Wood, Mr. LaHann, an-d Mr. Worthington. The increasing activity of the year reached its peak with the Freshman Initiation and Party. On August 27, 1956, fifty-five sophomores re-entered the now familiar halls of Petersburg High School. To start the year off right they elected for President, Don Shawgog Vice-President, Bob Vogt, Secretary, Polly Sutton, Treasurer, Linda Peter- song and Student Council Representatives, Marilyn Chester and Georgia Rensmau. Their sponsors were Mrs. Peterson, Mr. McKee, 'and Mr. Hilderbrand. The Sopho- more Stunt was one of the highlights of their second year. On September 3, 1957, forty-eight zealous juniors ,again returned to continue their climb up the ladder to success. They wisely chose as their leaders for President, Don Shawgog Vice-President, Polly Sutton, Secretary-Treasurer, Sandra Trenaryg and Student Council Representatives, Marilyn Chester, Danny Wilson, and Bob Vogt. Their very competent advisers were Mrs, Satorius, Miss Holloway, Mrs. Greenhalgh, and Mr. Heller. Mrs. Greenhalgh did ,an excellent job of directing the Junior Play, Tom Sawyer. Miss Holloway supervised the candy sales, Mrs. Satorius managed the ticket sales, magazines sales, and supervised the Junior Prom. The most enjoyable feature of the year was the Junior-Senior Prom which was held 'at the Leland Hotel on May 9th.
