' SENIOR CLASS PLAY On November 7, 1958, the Senior Class Play, IN CASE OF MURDER, a mystery-farce under the direction of Ida XY7yndham, was pre- sented in the high school auditorium. George Newcombe is having difficulty in finishing his latest television script, and his wife and Orville, the pesky kid next door, are no help. XY!hen George departs for town, the characters he has been writing about descend upon the house. After a call from his terrified wife, George comes home and discovers that the sign from a sanatorium up the road has been washed down in front of their house. These people think they are in the Pschodynamics Institute. George thinks this is a fine way to finish his play from real life, but when a succession of what appear to be murders oc- cur, he soon cnanges his mind and the manhunt is on. Finally a satisfactory conclusion is reached with the help of Orville who knows just how a play should end A dramatic scene from the play. THE LIBRARY CLUB The Library Club, one of the hardest working clubs in the school, is sponsored by Mrs. Blayney, the school li- brarian. In this club the girls learn various things about li- brary science, and keep the library clean and attractive. This year they visited the John J. Kane Hospital, where they presented each patient with a pocketbook. At the end of the school year, mem- bers who have completed the required number of hours as- sisting in the library receive a pin. It was generally felt that this year's Varsity team lacked the necessary advantage of having a number of experienced senior players. There were two senior players on the team who are to be congratulated for their fine showings Also to be taken into consideration was that we had a new coach with whose methods of coaching the boys were not well acquainted Throughout the season the team members played their best but the handicaps were too great The outlook for next years team appears to be filled with hope This outlook was fortified by Peters success in the Under graduate Tournament at Ayella following the close of our season Our team won three out of four games to finish in second place East Washington East Beth Center Midway Carnegie Claysyille Midway Cecil Ellsworth Bridgeyrlle Ellsworth South Fayette Snowden Belley ue Cecil Bentleyy ille Bridgeyille East McKeesport South Fayette Snow den SCORES Peter!
