Poche, our principal, Way down yonder in New Orleans, where The Saints Ga Marching ln , we love Mardi Gras and its Carnival Parades so filled with excitement, qaiety, and splendor. These parades are always events in our lives. When we think of happy events we also remember our school days at Samuel I. Peters High School. The Mardi Gras Parade will last forever, we hope, but our school days will soon end. Our memories will ever be refreshed by the pages in this, Our Yearbook. 0 R HIGH CHO0L DAY X Wrfrxxx My K' 1 l gi jr, 2 9 'llll Front row left to r1qht M1ss Moyheld Mr Scherf Mr P1lOll9 Mr Rldolfo Mrs GGSS19 M Hershberq Second row Mxss Meyer Mr Held Mr Iones Mr Thlbcxut Mrss Ronson M Bertuccl M1ss Ambrto Mr Krerder Mr Crohno Thlrd row MISSF Lofrcmz Mrs Le1clenl'1e1me1' Mr Locossoqne Mrss Thomas Mrs Koppel Mlss Coccluoro Mlss Bowle MISS l-lednck Mlss Ruhlmon Mr Clark Mxss M Lofrcrnz Mr Gschwlnd Last row Mr OZ9HOV1Ch Mr Devron Mr Bolton Mr Hornson Mr Poche Mr Petersen Mr Smxth Mr Roruqer Not plctured Mr Brupbocher Mr Scorclrno Page 4 SCHOOL DEPARTMENTS MISS THELMA BOWIE our school secretary renderxng azd to Anthony SIQKIOYIHO Margaret Presnell and Lols Albares are plctured pre parmg tne day s bulletm Page 6 MR ALBERT KREIDER our boys' counselor outlxnes to Leroy Savoxe hrs complete school record pomtmg out the progress achteved IH preparation for a well selected vocatxon MISS RUI-ILMAN qlrls counselor checks rec ords w1th Lee Parker who plans on enterlng the school for nursxng 1n the fall , Q95 Hfy, , EGLIH Ns QQXX? x06 90355306 gi we KONE? 15196 we e6xO1K035gg. wha- X Cxossyx WMO 'e Ma 0 R ne C1 IDOLF ,ef Q O0 QNX X0 an Q few Q38 r OS ' I IO SQ Uc din he s 9 Q of ,, onehberiod sfo Q c f En 9s bu Djqy' gifs xod Enqhsh MYR. I.et's not forqet our summer vacations and our favorite pastime- sittin' in me sun. Can you ever forget how much you tion? yearned tor vaca- .rv iff if Since New Orleans and Mardi Gras are synonymous, a Carnival Krewe was formed at our school in 1949. The main thought was to acquaint the students with the activities incident to a large Carnival ball, hoping thereby to enrich the students socially, culturallly, and educationally. The members of the Krewe not only participate in the ball, but they also attend two or three socials during the year. Through the guidance of our principal, Mr. Poche, Peters had Carnival balls for the past three years. Every one has been successful, and our school has been highly com- mended for these social affairs. The name of the Carnival Krewe, Krewe ot Iarvis, was taken from Samuel Iarvis Peters.
