Dedication “Honor zs pot a matter of any man s calling merely, but rather of Ais own achtons in 14° — Dwight The 1966 “Wildcat Staff takes esteem pleasure in dedicating this edition of The Wildcat” to coach Roy Bryant Robinson, Jr. Mr. Robinson, a native Floridian, is a graduate of the Fort Valley State College, Fort Valley, Georgia. He is married to the former Miss Patrica A. Jones, who is also a member of the faculty of our alma mater. They are the proud parents of a son, Roy Bryant Robinson, III. Mr. Robinson is affiliated with the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Coach Robinson is renown for outstanding contributions in the field of sports, especially basketball. Be- cause of these efforts, he is recipient of many trophies and certificates, As a teacher of health and physical education, he exhibits his proficiency in teaching. Mr. Robinson serves efficiently as head coach of the boys' varsity basketball team. He has worked dili- gently in this capacity, thus, producing some of the best teams and athletes in the state. Felicitations and best wishes to a grand coach! !

Tn Kecognition ) 9 The 1965 Mckibben Lane Award for teaching excellence has been presented to Mrs. Doris Hill Adams, teacher of French and head of the foreign language department at Peter G. Appling High School. The award was made at a meeting of the Bibb County Teachers and Education Association at L.H. Williams School. Judge Mallory C. Atkinson, vice president of the Bibb County Board of Public Education, praised Mrs. Adams' “ability to successfully transmit the basic skills and the fundamentals of the language which she commands, which he said is widely known among her professional associates and the student body. She employs various teaching techniques and audio-visual aids to stimulate student growth and develop- ment and is considered an expert in the use of the foreign language laboratory. The award carries a $250 cash grant. Mrs. Mckibben Lane, widow of the late board of education member whose family established the award in his memory, attended the presentation ceremony. Mrs. Adams received her A.B. degree from Shaw University; M.A. and Professional Diploma from Teachers College, Columbia University and has done further study in the area of French at Laval Univer- sity, Quebec, Canada and Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
