PETER G APPLING HIGH SCHOOL THE SENIOR CLASS PRESENTS The Welhdcat of 1960 “Success in life is a matter not so much of talent or opportunity as of concentration and perseverance.” C. W. WENDTE PETER G. APPLING HIGH SCHOOL Macon, Georgia Geraldine Williams Editor-in-chief DEDICATION PRINCIPAL MESSAGE ADMINISTRATION AND FACULTY WILDCAT'S STAFI SENIOR OFFICERS WHO'S WHO IN THE SENIOR CLASS IN RECOGNITION UNDERCLASSMEN CUSTODIAN DIETITIAN ACTIVITIES FOREWORD As you travel o'er life's pathways, you will come upon numerous experiences you wish to retrace, Your days spent at P, G, A, will always be among your most cherished memories. Through the pages of this 1959-1960 Wildcat Annual, we have tried to capture moments you will want to remem- ber. Our desire is that as you leaf through these pages, you will have “June roses in December. Geraldine Williams Dedication THE PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE Members of the class of 1960: It is with a deep sense of pride that I greet you in this Annual. A publication such as this requires a great deal of time and hard work. The members of the Wildcat staff deserve our warmest thanks and praise for a fine job of compiling this, the first edition of the WILDCAT. An Annual is a record of history--history that set forth the chronological steps of the lives and activities of those persons who have associated their cooperative efforts for a period. Incidents in pictures very often tell a more vivid story than the pen can describe. It is my sincere hope that in the years to come, in your laudable endeavors, this Annual will refresh your memories on the glorious days you spent at Appling. Congratulations, class of 1960--the first graduating class of the Peter G. Appling High School. Harry B. M. Booth: Mrs. E. M. Booth is a native of Macon, Georgia and an instructor of Peter G. Appling High School. Mrs. Booth is the loving and considerate wife of Mr. Raymond Booth and mother of two daughters, namely, Raycine Cecilia and Adrienne Denise. Mrs. Booth is a graduate of Fort Valley State College. Her field of concentration is Social Science. We the Seniors of 1959 and 1960, consider Mrs. Booth as an assiduous person. One who helped us in the many problems of which we were con- fronted with each day. Only now, standing at the exit of our high school career, we can fully appreciate, the worth and truth of this statement that this year has been the best year of our lives, not an easy year but one of the best. Though time will pass, and we shall part, Mrs. Booth will be an unbreak- able link in our chain of memories. It has been rough at times but, with you Mrs. Booth, a very understanding person, it was made easier and more pleasant. With the realization that we are still very young in heart and experience, with our knowledge and with the help that you have contributed to us, we feel as if there is no better person to associate with than you. We the seniors of 1959, 60 can say, “Words can not adequately express our gratitude and appreciation to you. May God's richest blessings be bestowed upon you forever.
