We must have aims, and should give the best we have to realize these. Let me commend to you the Rotary Club slogan, Service Above Selff, B stands for the books with which you have become acquainted and those with which you are to become familiar in the future. They are the sign' posts along the way of life. Read them carefully so that you may be inspired and guided in the right direction. C stands for the companions that will follow you through life. Choose those who will be true friends, for they, as books, will guide you along life's highway. Aims, books, and companions should lead you up to life's rich storehouse. -David M. Durst. When a man turns a blessing from his door, it falls to them that take it in. This old saying of George Eliot's contains the theme of my message to you this year. The one who is prone to take his educational blessings for granted: who fails to ap' preciate the joys of fine friendship, good books, wholesome exercise, and the opportunities for en' riching the mind and expanding the soul-finds these blessings slipping away from him. Then he often looks with envy upon those who have profited by them and wonders why his own luck has failed him and happiness eluded him. Appreciation and gratif tude are attributes of a fine soul and are often the surest guarantee of success and happiness. -Ellin Trueblood.
