Bakehorn and Gochenour Sub-varsity mcitmen are, Kneeling: Foreman, Carriger T lone: and Dinsmore Standing: T King, McGinnis, I Cover and D Grimes Jim Cress Carries OH Honors In State Championship Peru Highs wrestling team took a state championship this year lor the tirst time in PHS wrestling history when lim Cress won in the l38-pound division, A great deal of prestige was given to sports in PHS when lim won the state championship. The scores ot the three matches were as tolf lows 42, 52 and 5-U. This year was the best allfround year for wrestling, with the team winning 6 matches, losing 5 and lighting to a draw with left ot Lafayette N 'u,,, Receiving maior awards are seven of the most outstanding wrestlers ot this season, They are' Terry Brooks, Nestle Grimes, lim Cress, Dick Harshman, Russell Miller, Buddie Penn and Dale Bakehorn, High scorers on the team were Iim Cress, 42 points, Dick Harshman, 37 points, Terry Brooks, 36 points and Nestle Grimes, 32 points. The tournament matches are not included in these scores. Coach Ploss has worked hard to make the wrestling team what it should be. Getting the advantage on his opponent is Tiger grappler Dick Harshman Dick is a senior and rounded out his Wres- tling career at PHS this year Dick was second in the total number of points earned during the year
