Music Depcrfmenf Gives A puppet show with live puppets and regular puppets helped make the operetta, Naughty Marietta, presented by the Music Department on December 8 and Q in the auditorium, differ ent from any performed previously. ln the New Crleans town all became bedlam when the governor, Michael Davidson, fell in love with a casauette maid, and then turned out to be a pirate leader. More confusion was added to the plot 'frhen the maid, Pat McNamara, was found to be a missing Countess of France. She loved only Captain Dick, Paul Bingaman. Week night showings brought a small crowd but a successful performance to directors fairies Noble, fairies Hawker, Hal Kesler, and Miss lane Garber Ruth Young was student director. Everybody s happy in th s scene including the audience, as Pat McNamara laughs at her puppet players at the antics of live ruppet clowns Va ilyn McMinn and Flurry Hines, and at puppet' master Te ry Middlekauff and Nike Davidso a suitor. Chariiiing Marietta laughs with everyone.
