Ice skating was scarce this year tor Butch Guyer, Kay l-lull, Audra Brower, l-larold Chatlish, Marilyn McMinn, and lerry Powell as snow didnt tall much until a couple ot heavy March storins to greet spring . . . Then the Clouds Burst With the coldness of winter, more stayed inside Where they could watch on TV the Candelabra and big srnile of Liberace, and choose sides in the Arthur Godfrey and Iulius LaRosa rift. An epidemic of appendectornies, automobile accidents, and broken legs, feet, and toes put not only students on the casualty list, but also Miss Hester Wood in the hospital tor awhile. Although Rain didn't com- pete with top hits l'Secret Love and UStranger in Paradise on the hit parade this year, it still brought out the urnbrellas and raincoats ol Betty Sterrett and Marilyn Iaberg on a rainy day,

The line seems shorter to Don Douglass, Fred Turner, and loyce Featherstone when an exciting game in Tig-Arena is just beyond the ticket booth and Ben Rufe. The new gym, which is now l5 years old, got its new name through a Peruvian contest and was made official by School Board approval. X School Spirit Runs High It's a long walk for the band from school to practice field and through the formations, too. Here, Sam Stegman, Kay Hancock, and Iim Lighty are relieved to stop and sympathize with Sondra Lan- dis during a lunch hour practice.
