Jumping Jacks - Ready? Begin! Rich sets up a shot during a floor hockey game. Many of us liked gym; some were not too fond of it. In any case, physical education was a part of our daily routine at PAHS. The best part of gym was having a choice of playing many different sports. For one marking period each year health was required. The best part of the phys. ed. curriculum, however, was behind the wheel” driver's ed. Theory and simulation were interesting, but getting out of the building and driving a car was the high point of the year for all of us. Raquel gets into those jumping jacks. We Solved Math Problems Mathematics courses are an important part of the curriculum at PAHS. The basic mathematical skills we learned will be applied to solve everyday problems and help with business problems in our future. Computer classes were very popular offerings of the math department. We learned to use computers, program them in three computer languages and to use telephone lines for time sharing with larger computer systems. Students in college preparatory programs enrolled in trig., calculus and analytical geometry. These were tough classes, but important and worthwhile in the long run Lynda edits her Fortran program. Clara tries to solve a trig problem.

We Ventured Into An Unseen World We looked forward to our science classes. They gave us the opportunity to do things that we used to get yelled at for doing when we were kids. We cut up worms, played with all sorts of live animals and even mixed colored “mystery” liquids to see what would happen. Science courses also gave us a larger view of life and the world around us. We studied plants, animals and microscopic forms of life. We penetrated the surface of the earth and peered into our atmosphere and beyond. Bernie. Sonia and Francis collect equipment needed for their experiment. Brenda prepares a specimen for the microscope. 30 The bones of the human hand interest Evelyn and Karen.
