We Spoke Foreign Languages We chose foreign language courses because we were eager to learn about different people and places around the world. During the course of the year’s studies we read stories, refered to maps and watched films and slides. These experiences not only made our language classes more interesting, but also gave us the feeling that we were really visiting” France, Spain, Italy or Germany. Ms. Francica discusses Florence. And To Work With Machines Ray removes a flat tire from its rim. Industrial arts classes provided us with the opportunity to learn how to use machines and tools properly and safely. We were shown the importance of mastering a craft and we began to take pride in the tasks we accomplished using our hands. We were proud, too. when we exhibited our products at the various craft expositions in Middlesex County. Finally, we got to show off some of our prize winning entries in the front hall of our school. We Faced Inspection Tina checks some recruitment material being studied by Thomas and Gladys. The long and glorious tradition of the United States Navy was alive in our NJROTC classes. In addition to attending classes, all members of the corps had to wear uniforms and stand inspection every Thursday. A more formal, administrative and personnel inspection by senior members from the Department of the Navy took place each spring. Among the best experiences we had were going to boot camp and then actually spending time aboard fully operative naval vessels. Commander Paul shares a joke with a group of smiling cadets.
