5 1 ABT One of the stars under our Big Top is our Art Department. Whether it was making posters tor the Periscope drive, season tickets and Book Week or paintina scenery for assemblies, the department always gave a smooth performance. The curriculum was interesting and diversified. We experimented in the mediums ot pastels, trans- parent Water color, oils, tempera and pencil. A pro- gram of outdoor classes was also instituted. Our tal ents were further displayed by the annual painting ot Halloween windows, a Sidewalk exhibit a la Parisienne and a contest sponsored by the Federated Womens Clubs. , 'I ::....v ' 1 N V - S rn- 1 -g :X ., Ida L. As we trouped through the circus grounds, we found many able performers who were Willing to teach us the tricks of the various trades. ln our woodwork and metalworlc classes we had the chance to learn by actually creating useful and beautiful things. We will never forget the fascination of printing or the unveiling of the mysteries of photography. What circus would be a treat without exquisite costumes and good things to eat? The Home Economics Department has been one of the most interesting sideshows on our circus grounds. Our experiments in cooking and sewing classes delighted us, and how pleased we were with the results! The guid- ance received from this coursewill remain as pleasant and useful memories. -5' '-zrqvw .w nfl I 5 Henry W. Dane. M.Ed.: Georqe A. Sea- man, B.S., Head of Department.
