FOREWORD • Although we are still in the midst of fighting and winning this cruel war, we are already discussing the world of tomorrow and the peace to come. When, with unconditional surrender, hostilities finally cease, and peace again reigns over the earth, it will be for us, the present generation, to make sure that this peace will be a lasting and durable one. It will be our duty to see that a recurrence of a conflict such as the present one may never again be visited upon the human race. It will be up to us to make certain that those men and women who have given their utmost in this ordeal of battle may not have died in vain. The postwar world that we graduates are going to enter will not be a world in which there is a life of leisure. It will be a world of reconstruction and rehabilitation. We, with our youthful ambitions, must make this earth habitable once more. We shall have to reeducate the world to live normal lives in an environment of tranquillity. It is not going to be an easy task that we shall have to do,-but with the training and guidance that have been given us in school, we are confident that we can successfully undertake and complete such a venture. To make ourselves more capable of doing a worthwhile mission, however, we should all further our education. Whether we do this in professional or practical areas will depend upon the needs and abilities of the individual. While we may attempt to look forward into the future, we must remember that we cannot forget about the past. Since this is true, we have prepared this Annual in order that we may indulge in reminiscences, and recall the episodes and life we had at a time when history was being written. Whenever we muse over the trials and tribulations that we had while in High School, let us be mindful not only of the lessons these have taught us, but also of the opportunities to put into practice all that we have learned. Remembering then, that the trials and tribulations of today are merely the histories of tomorrow, let us go forward with vim and determination to do our part in creating a better world!
