SCRDDL AND ITS ADMINISTRATION IIIIH PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE The primary responsibility of secondary schools is to help the young people of this nation gain all understanding of the ideals and conditions of the democratic way of life. If we educate boys and girls, democracy can be effected, for a government will be strong according to the ideals of its citizens. It is important that the schools give attention to the rights, privileges and opportunities of these future citizens and also that special emphasis be placed upon their duties and responsibilities. Training in democratic practices in school life as a preparation for group life after school is afforded by the school activity program. This program serves a two-fold purpose: the development of individuals and the encouragement of co-operation between individuals and groups of individuals.
