'Q . 421' 15, J' El 5 'id 'F if xv- A Af ' -1 19's l - - . f . - -. . f .. - ,X 1 ,., ,.,u.., .E ' , 11' - q I ,. 4 ' - -ibx L f-Sf ' ' ,I J -- ' wt: 5 wx if. 1 f ,,, ' his - ff xx FOOT BALL LOVELOCK PORTOLA We opened the 1950 football season by traveling to Portola California for an inter state tilt It was a hard fought game with the half time ending in a O 0 tie Lowelock finally came to life in the third quarter to push over the initial touchdown of the day The touchdown was set up by Tracy with Bliss finding his way to paydirt LOVELOCK SPARKS The first conference game saw the locals go down to defeat against a strong Sparks Rail roaders outfit Mooney was outstanding for the Railroaders outfit by racing over the goal line stripe three times Bob McDonald scored Loxelock s only touchdown which made the final score Sparks lb lovelock 1 IOVELOCK YERINGTON The improving Mustangs took Yerington to the tune of 12 following their defeat by only score Lovelock s touchdowns came on a quarterback sneak from Westergaard and a pass from Westergaard to Summerfield ELKO LOVELOCK This proyed to be one of the best games of the season Elko scored first on a pass from Samper to O Carroll who fell in the end zone Later Lovelock went up the field in a drive that went to the three yard line just as the whistle blew for the halftime preventing another play by Lovelock In the third quarter after a long march for about 10 yards Don Stenovich plowed over from the 4 yard line Final score Lovelock tw Elko 6 IOVELOCK STLWART The Mustang spirit was high because they were getting a chance to knock Stewart from a first place tie in the Western Conference In the first b plays Bob NleDonald went over for Lovelock s first touchdown and topped it with the extra point The braves retaliated right away but failed to make the extra point Stewart scored twice more on a fumble and a pass In the second half Lovelock marched for two more touchdowns by Bliss and Thacker to make the final score loxelock 19 Stewart 21 Sponsored by MARK BROS DRUGS ti SPORTING GOODS Q v -' ' ' ' y ' v y ' . 1 .
