Seniors CLASS OFFICERS WM. F. COWLEY -'President ALOYSIUS NEELS- -Vice President. CELIE POURNEYfSecretary. THOMAS LAYTON- -Treasurer. MOTTO Keep Goin'. COLORS-ffOld Gold and Black. FLOWER -Black-eyed Susan. . T1- Jllphf-1 and Omega lThe Beginning and the Endj i' ND If 'the beginnirg there were Freshies. The beginning here spoken of is the year One. Slow- ly these primeval ancestors of ours rose to the Q heights of mcdern and present civilization, ' ' f- ' Only the most nimal instincts marked these abori- . l ginesf-the desire for food, a little raiment. not too many F's and, most of all, the desire to be let alone. But even then some sparks of the divine fire of awakening genius began to take hold of these pathetically ignorant and sweetly unsrphisti- cated newcomers in this vale of tears. Leaders stood forth. Our president, in all the dignity of his short trousers, began to have an inclination for a good time. The first faint stirrings tif genius found their expression in ornate carvings upon the desks and furnishings of the instituticn. Slowly, by gradual evolution, the Freshmen reached the second, or Sophomoric age. Little is known of this period of slow transition. Fcssil remains, however, lead our scientists to believe that during this era the art of facial decoration was beginning to be practiced by the girls and had reached a stage of higher development. The third historic age has wel een c ance, or pericd of rebirth. Olympian games called the athlete. Slowly mankind was taking its rightful place and slowly civili- l b alled the Renaiss- zation was triumphing cver barbaiism. Today these mortals have reached the ranks of Super- men. Upon their brow sits the laurel wreath and around their stately head hangs a mystic- halo. Silence! The Senior passes. All's well with the world, 5 1 7 '. .' j .'.
