Cheerleaders: Leaders of Scho In the spring of 1962, Rita Queener, Carolyn Mc- Nabb, Diane Loftin, Pam Tate, Linda Cambell, and Paula Wright were elected cheerleaders by the stu- dent body. Paula and Linda were appointed head cheerleaders by Cloys Webb, and on their shoulders lay the responsibility of molding the girls into a top rate organization. Immediately after election the girls started hav- ing practice sessions, and they continued practice until it was time to go to camp. While at camp, they brought honor to Perryton by winning two second place awards for competitive yells. Upon returning home they had one-hour practice sessions every day until school started and the time for the first pep rally and ball game arrived. Everywhere we go people want to know who we are so we tell them. Earmuffs were a necessity for a cold game against Levelland.
