Throughout the many school years, Perryton High has gained the title of having great school spirit. This year above all it has been worthy of this name. Enthusiastic students have joined together to make this year a finer and more complete year for P.H.S. ,-m - — I Still say I ' m proud to be a RANGER ! YELL, ye Rangers, YELL! -f- BONFIRE STILL PLANNED DESPITE WOOD BURNING: Despite a premature burning by some mis- guided souls with warped sense of humor, a large pile of fire wood was in place for a bonfire Thursday night. Some rather stupid individuals with no respect for the rights of others set fire to the previously gathered wood Monday night. (Ochiltree County Herald, October 26, 1961) JLMt Well now, Mr. Zollar - it ' s like this ... At the beginning of the football game each Friday Night,, the audience ' s attention is centered on Blaze, our Ranger mascot ridden by Joe D. New- man, who together with the cheerleaders lead the Rangers onto the field.

In order to build stronger school spirit during football season a pep rally was held preceeding each Friday night game. The cheerleaders de- voted much time and effort to planning new and different skits. The students and the pep band cheered our team to victory. Cheerleaders work hard to plan posters for games. Best facility cheerleaders honored with chance to ring victory bell at first conference game. Mr. Dick Bynum drives the Greyhound bus which carries the Rangers to victory. ll ■ in r1 i He done his best but it wasn ' t good enough. Ranger tc : ball practice was encouraged by short pep rallies on the practice field. 10
