We were so dumb that we thought we knew it all. Mr. Kelly soon changed our .t-- mind, though, when he introduced algebra to us. graduated from Junior High School that year, a group of brilliant looking prospects. Perhaps the prospects weren't so good as they looked: at any rate, upon entering Senior High School we found that Juniors, and Seniors cared very little about what Sophomores thought. With the sponsorship of Miss Roberta Hutchison we showed the fair upper classmen that these Soph omores amounted to something, even though the - usual run of them d1dn't. Then, when we started to school in 19355 we were what people call Juniors. Seniors recog- nized us then, and we felt almost as dignified then as we do naw. Imogene Howlett, one of our Junior girls, won the Lusher medal, a prize highly coveted.. And now as the closd of this school year is drawing nigh and approximately sixty boys and gir are preparing to leave '0l P.H.S.,'.we realize that it has been through the tireless efforts of our instructors and parents, that we are partly equipped for the sea of life, We, as the Senior class, wish to express our gratitude to all who are helping and have helped to make this graduation possible. .J ' L we X! Uaneta Bryan leaves her ability to give 0 readings to Blanche Allen. Inez Johnson wills her nickname QShinezl to anyone possessing the same given name. That is mighty generous of you, Inez. Ben Crum wills his ability fertile plains to anyone that to till the sleeps with a window open, or sits in the study hall of cer- tain da s Y - . We have no more wills, but if you are inter- ested in wills try 'Will O' the W1sp,' Y' future of our 1937 Senior Cless, we vision our wonderful talents scfttered to the four corners of the world First, we see Fred Kuhn rolling v peanut up Pikes Peak with his nose to pay the bet he hos lost when he bet Sybil Apple that she had the more freckles. M rtis Dowers is the pride of Farnsworth. Cwhich one?l Helen Mey, Fern Hamilton, Sibyl McCall, and Annebell Cox have formed e united sister- hood, and they are inventing scales with enough numbers to register the weights of some people who are different in some ways. Mildred Brillh rt and Idele Nelson are touring the world, looking for Q singing accomplice good enough for Idele so Mildred can play for them. Imogene Howlett and Harold Hudson have gained greet populfrity as the greatest orators in the Ochiltree county Jail. Avis Lee Wooten is teaching ettiquette to Norman Swink. Shicfly she is trying to show him how to drink from 2 glass without getting his lips too fer over the mouth of the glass. Guy Stewart and Mnry Lee Wilson are trying to generate enough wind to blow up n basket ball so they can teach each other how to throw a goal. QThey got wind all right.l Clyde Jones hes become e private tutor of the Quintuplets. Alene Stone fell out or n sky scraper window into n net and bounced for seven days: to keep her from starving, George Morris, Q great enter, is shooting biscuits into her meuth, and who is cooking the biscuits but Mnylynn Lovett and Jennie Woods, our house wives Helen Tallmen and Lee Kent are sitting in the shade of the Rock of Ages trying to figure how old it is. The Junior Glass had the privilege bf hav- ing the Queen of the basket bell tournament and the King of the tournament members of our class. The Queen who was chosen by the whole student body was Nelda Rose Wright and the King was Bobby Whippo. The attendants elected from the Junior Class for this same occasion were June Phelps and Ernest Ferguson. One of the outstanding activities of the school year of 1957 was the Junior play, 'Here Comes Patricia.' This was given on Tuesday, February 23, 1937. The proceeds from the play amounted to seventy-nine dollars which will be hsed to give the greatly anti- cipated Junior-Senior Banquet. This year the Junior Glass succeeded in ordering bracelets for the first time.
