CLASS HISTORY On August 31 1954 forty one bewtldered freshmen began therr hlgh school career My such pres tlge that goes Vlllfh bemg rn h1gh school! We chose as our class pres1dent Clyde Coleman vlce pres1dent Sandra Kelch secretary and treasurer Joan Young We also chose Mlss L1ll1an Kelavos as our sponsor We enjoyed parttcrpatrng 1n the Homecom1ng Pat Dav1s represented our class as Queen Attendant Durxng the year we lost several classmates They were Nancy R11ey Jeanette Sprlng Mary Burdme and M1ke Upper man We welcomed Lmda Moudy to our class In 55 we began our sophomore year w1th thrrty erght members We elected our class offlcers as fol lows pres1dent Joe Sare vrce pres1dent D1ck Keller secretary Joan Young treasurer Pat Dav1s We chose Mr Everett W1lson as our sponsor As he d1dn t complete the year we elected Mr Wayne Parker rn h1s place One of our classmates Sandra Kelch became varsrty cheerleader Alrce Tuttle was our Home comxng Queen Attendant In the fall of 56 we f1nally became jun1ors Upperclassmenl To prove th1s we rece1ved our class rmgs We lost four members of our class They were Janet Cadman Shrrley McDowell Terry Hudson and Yvonne Park Our class offlcers th1s year were presrdent Joan Young v1ce pres1dent Sandra Kelch secretary treasurer Rex Woodrow Our sponsors were Mr John Parker and Mr Jtm Fortune In the fall we vended c1der and donuts at the football games We had several other projects also tn hopeful ant1c1 pat1on of fmancmg a tr1p to Washmgton D C upon graduatlon Yvonne Park was our Homecommg Queen Attendant To mark the football season wrth prrde we won the Wabash Valley Champlonshlp All of the cheerleaders were from our class They were Sandra Kelch Alrce Tuttle Naom1 Turner and Marsha Bollar In the sprxng we presented our class play Go West Young Man under the d1rect1on of Mr Frank Hayes We entertamed the sen1ors w1th the Jun1or Semor Receptron at Crawfordsvtlle tn the sprmg also 19571 lt s unbehevable but we re f1na1ly perched on top of the totem pole We chose Mr Garrard and Mr Adams as our class sponsors We chose our class offtcers as follows pres1dent Joan Young vtce pres1dent 11m Cole and secretary treasurer Sandra Kelch We lost Yvonne Park Lmda Moudy Pat Dav1s and Fred Harper from our class They were replaced by Georgrann Morphy Charles R1chardson Rosemary Russell and Junror Tolbert Cand1dates for Homecom1ng Queen were Sandra Kelch Al1ce Tuttle Naomi Turner and Georgrann Morphy Sandra was crowned Queen by our co capta1ns Roy Hershberger and D1ck Keller durtng the half t1me at our game w1th Veedersburg After the game we sponsored the Homecommg Dance whrch was a success On November 29 we presented our class play Hrgh School Hero under the d1rect1on of Mr Rex Crowder Ir We had several money makxng projects thts year to earn money for our semor tnp Among these were concessxons dunng football games and the noon hour scrap drrves car washes sock hops and a talent show Several g1rls recerved GAA sweaters th1s sprmg and l1kew1se the boys recexved thetr athletrc jackets The jun1ors entertarned us at the Junror Semor Receptlon thrs sprmg whrch we enjoyed very much Our hrgh school lxfe for us 1S now drawrng to a close brmgmg graduatton our trtp to Washrngton D C and the long awalted dtplomas As we all go our separate ways there w1ll always be a warm place rn our hearts for good ole' P H S Covrngton Covlngton COVINGTON NEWSPAPER FOUNTAIN TRUST COMPANY
