y ' ik ' ill ' m .V. PUBLIC 1 3183301806 7659 THE 1976 BLACK AND GOLD Volume XIII Perrysburg High School 350 E.S. Boundary Street Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 WE DEDICATE THIS BOOK TO. . . Dolores McHugh ' ZM-4 Sarah Hoffman Florene Cogan DOLORES McHUGH Mrs, McHugh has worked in the Perrysburg High School Guidance Department for 12 years. She has helped many high school students make important decisions toward their future. Mrs. McHugh enjoys swimming, cooking and traveling. She retired in January and went on a short vacation to the South. SARAH HOFFMAN Mrs. Hoffman was the night custodian at Perrysburg High School. She worked for eight years and has enjoyed it very much. She stated that she liked the students and that they were all very nice. She retired in April and moved to Mansfield to be near her daughter and her grandchildren. ROBERT FRANZ Mr. Frantz is the day custodian and is a familiar face to all Perrysburg High School students. He works hard and is always available to help students with locker problems or anything else that comes up. Bob worked for the High School for ten years and worked for Toledo Schools for five years prior to coming to Perrysburg. He is very interested in landscaping and horticulture and is responsible for landscaping most of the town. Certainly he is the man who is responsible for landscape around the high school. Robert owns an agency involved in landscaping and will devote all his time to this endeavor upon retirement. Bob is also the engineer who manipulates the boilers in the season of cold weather. He is also the specialist on the tractor who operates the snow plow in bad weather. In the summer months he also loves to mow grass and play around in the flower beds. He and Scotty also take care of the football field and the baseball diamond. To mention all that Bob does would take many pages. He looks forward to his retirement and the school and the students are going to miss his presence as well as his efficiency. He and his daytime partner were troubleshooters for about anything that came up. . .from leaking roofs to plugged toilets to about anything else. FLORENE COGAN Mrs. Cogan was the matron and laundress for the High School. She was employed by the board for ten years. She took her job very seriously and was somewhat of a philosopher. She tried to help out various students when asked and sometimes when she wasn ' t asked. . .she offered her help. She just did not like to see students do things that would lead to trouble or that would endanger their health. This concerned her very much. She retired and took a trip to Florida. She enjoys her camping trips, biking and traveling. She expects to do a lot of traveling in her retirement. She was part of the threesome of Frantz, Scott and Cogan. She always listened to someone ' s story of woe and had a kind heart and would go out of her way to help if she could. To Mrs. McHugh, who started in Social Studies at Perrysburg; to Mrs. Hoffman, the efficient night custodian; to Robert Frantz, who knew all about the flowers and the bees, and to Mrs. Cogan, we dedicate this bicentennial edition of the Black and Gold. May your retirements be happy and enjoyable. We will miss all of you. You have played a great part in our lives at school. Steve wouTd have been a member of the Senior Graduating Class and is hereby remembered by his fellow seniors. His untimely parting was a great loss to the student body, the high school athletics, and clubs to which he belonged. He was quite active in all phases of the curriculum. His enthusiasm, energy and love of life were qualities that all students could do well to copy. He set a fine example for his fellow club members and boys on the athletic teams and his attitude in classes was certainly something that many others would do well to think about. It is in his memory that the following was submitted and a request made by his classmates that this page be given in his memory. We do pass along the way but once and the things we do as we pass through lets others know that we did pass through. Since we never know when we will leave this life, we should not waste our time. He lived, loved and made good use of his time, thereby setting an example to others.  % Then who will sing me Comfort song And cry the tears Hold? And who will takes his Memories And turns them into Gold? Then how will I Remember Steve With sunkissed eyes And hair? On windswept nights When stars are high And drifting like the Sea? I ' ll mourn because He is not here And smile because He is free. Anonymous n - . I SENIORS 76 • 23 Jennifer Virginia Bauman Myljnda S. Bayer Debbie Baz Susan Marie Becliill Susan ). Beck Karen A. Senior Salli Parrish— Sports Editor — handled all sports plus other areas to help finish up. Sophomore Sue Barrett — worked hard on her and other sections and never quit once. Sophomore Lorraine Ryan Photographer-spent most of her time taking pictures. These five stalwarts spent all their spare time with work on the annual. Betti began in the summer last year working on ads. She never shirked her job and was wonderful. Salli helped on ads and then spent full time working on the sports section. When completed she worked on other sections. Both she and Betti came in after school was out in May to complete the job. Sue spent time on ads also and then worked on her section and others. She was always wanting to help and it was gratifying to get someone of her caliber. She will be around next year to do her share of work. Lorraine Ryan spent many hours of extra time working taking pictures at sports events and other activities. Spring sports tied her up in the spring. Sharon was quite helpful in writing many letters to advertisers and other correspondence.
