He is very hard to stop because of his drive-in shot which he combines with an accurate jump shot from outside. Chaz Caple Junior A center, standing 6' Z , the tallest man on the team, this year developed his shots and tip-ins to perfection. He scor- ed olten and captured many rebounds. Chaz will be play- ing basketball again next year. jerry Bohner Senior Jerry played guard position this year. He is an excellent ball handler and has the best two-handed set shot on the team. He will be hard to re- place next year. Dave Eckman Junior Dave played the position of forward on the team. His height, 5' 10 aided his devel- opment of the jump shot. The team will see Dave playing again next year. Wall' Burkhart Senior Walt used his height and Weight to much advantage as he grabbed many rebounds. He comes through in the clutch and delivers points where they are needed most. Next year, the forward posi- tion Which Walt fills, will be very hard to replace. Neil Ford Junior This year, Neil proved his able ball handling and passing. He played defense and backed many Valuable plays. He will be a valuable asset to next year's team. 61 Eugene Melchert Junior Eugene was one of the juniors who alternated between the reserves and varsity this year. He has drive and determina- tion and we expect to hear a lot of V.E. in 1957. Frank Sattler Junior Frank, who played forward, was one of the ten juniors on the varsity this year. He has a good jump shot that he often puts to good use. When Frank is in the game, he can be counted on to do his best, both on defense and offense. He will be a great help to us next year. i I 62 Daniel Piarf Senior Dan is P-burg's most aggres- sive and determined player. Hampered by a knee injury, Dan still was on the first team and added many points to our score. Dan was elected Bas- ketball King and is one of the three seniors graduating from the team. Harold Stanford Junior Playing guard, Harold was another one of the juniors who alternated between the reserves and varsity. When- ever he was in the game he could be expected to do his best. He is a good shot from around the key but prefers the role of playmaker. Tony Sanders Junior Playing guard, Tony's one hand set shot and jump shot came when they were needed most. Along with his scrappy playing and excellent passing, he often took the role of play- maker. He will be one of our most valuable players next year and will be expected to play his best. Bob Trowbridge Junior Bob is a fine shot and uses his rebounding ability to his ad- vantage. A forward, he was one of the team's top point makers and got his share of rebounds, too. We will be counting on Bob next year. ,M Q, fx -,a x.!,g? is 5 35 gf Left to Right: Coach Wolfe, Tom Bohner, Bob Burkhardt, Bob Ryder, Tom Hilla- brand, Al Lehman, Mike Mather, Bob Sattler, Don Boyd, Wayne Rupp, Jack Coble, Dave Frederick, Jim Decko, Harold Eckle, Dick Deiley, Dave Rogers. K athy Holkovic SENIGRS Class of 1956 We as Seniors on the threshold of our fu- tures, remember our days spent in Perrys- burg High School. Some of these memories stand clear in our minds, while the others, small, but important at the time, have faded away. One morning, early in September, we stood, for the first time united as a class, which would be going through the next four years together. President Tom Morrison, Vice- President Joan Mullen, Secretary Charles Waldo, and Treasurer Gloria Stanley, with the advice of our sponsors, planned a square dance in the fall, a convocation in honor of Abraham Lincoln, and a picnic at Fort Meigs'. Ray Laubenthal, led our class through our sophomore year, along with Vice-President Don Ferguson, Secretary Geraldine Bernard, and Treasurer Lorna Shufeldt. We had a talent show, a dance called the Shillelegh Shuffle, and a picnic at Fort Meigsi. As we neared the top, our sponsors, Presi- dent Lowell Jacobs, Vice-President Dick Goeke, Secretary Frances Magrum, and Treasurer Barbara Stanford, put on a dance called November Nonsense, a picnic at Ot- sego, and a farewell convocation for the Sen- iors. We also helped to sponsor the Senior Prom. In the fall of ,55 we Seniors entered Perrys- burg High School for our last year. Besides planning the usual class activities, we were all planning for the future, our future. Mr. Taylor, Miss Munger, and Mr. Munger gave us wise counsel in choosing our vocations. Our last class picnic .at Otsego, the Bugg Womp Convention, the Christmas Dance, and our successful ham dinner proved to everyone our ability to work together. President Ray Laubenthal, Vice-President Joan Mullen, Sec- retary Sharon Rupp, and Treasurer Kathy Holkovic were the busiest of all, planning and working on our class trip to Washington. The Junior Class gave us our Senior Prom at the end of May. Yes, this was our year, full of both joy and sorrow, a year to be long re- membered by all of us. Classroom with Daylight Walls at Perrysburg Elementary School You've heard folks say, Take me back to the good old days l Well, if they're refer- ring to the horse and buggy and kerosene lamps - they can have those days. lf they're thinking of taffy-pulling parties and two-bit haircuts-they may have some- thing worth talking about. But when it comes to the advantages of our modern school architecture, we know that many of today's buildings are tops! You see, more and more school boards are paying careful attention to daylight and view - with clear glass in classrooms from sill to ceiling. Taxpayers like Daylight Walls, too. They are economical to build and to maintain. And when windows are of Thermopane insulating glass heating costs are lowered and rooms are quieter. Tuf-flex tempered glass is used on school elevations next to playgrounds and in gym- nasium windows. It is heat-strengthened to withstand three to five times more impact than regular plate glass of the same thick- ness. When reflecting upon the many advantages of this glass age we live in, we think you'lI agree that the good new days are better!
