The name Trylon, one of the Words of Tomorrow coined for the New York World's Fair, is a combination of the word tri, meaning three, and pylori, meaning a monumental gateway. The Trylon is the World's Fair beacon and broadcasting tower. lt is especially significant that this term is applied to the present senior class. Three qualities characterize them - fellowship, leadership, and scholarship. The Trylons have been the beacon and broadcasting tower of P. H. S. They are capable gateways to the World of Tomorrow. Every phase of the Trylons' activities has centered around their goal, the trip to the New York World's F air. A Thanksgiving sports dance, two marion- ette shows, two movies, and a riotous donkey basketball game helped to raise the necessary capital. The class also sponsored a series of interclass basketball games. The senior cafeteria, which extended over a period of three months, was the means of earning the largest sum. The fund was also increased by the aid of the mothers, who cooperated in the sponsoring of a bake sale, a doughnut sale, and a benefit card party, The guidance of Miss Brentlinger and Mr. Barber, the class advisers, has been an important factor in making the trip possible. .W .
