Mr. Robert Wilson has been teaching English and social studies in Perry for five years. He received his B.S. degree in education from Kent State. Mr. Wilson is the junior class advisor and head track coach. Mrs. Betty Ann Hoffman has been at Perry for seven years. She is a counselor and teaches psychology. She has her B.S. and M.A. degrees in education. She has attended Kent State, Youngstown State, Cleveland State, and John Carroll Universities. Mr. Bob Ritley started teaching boys’ physical education and health at Perry this year. He received his B.S. degree in physical education and health from the University of Michigan. He is also head football coach. Mrs. Laurel J. Van Slyke teaches geometry, algebra II, and basic math. She attended Kent State University, Edinboro and Lake Erie Colleges. Mrs. Van Slyke has her B.S. in education. She is also the cheerleading sponsor for the high school. Mr. Charles P. Cooper has taught in Perry since September of 1952. He received his B.S. in education and Masters in education from Ohio University. He teaches office practice and is a guidance counselor along with being advisor for the National Honor Society. The girls’ gym and health teacher is Miss Kathy Flynn. This is her first year. She received her B.S. in education from Kent State University. Miss Flynn also took on the job as head coach for girls’ basketball. Mrs. Karen Foos has been at Perry for three years. She teaches chemistry, physics, and mathematics. She is also sponsor of F.T.A. Mrs. Foos received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Ohio University. Miss Joan Henshaw has been at Perry for two years. She received her B.S. in English and library science from Bowling Green State University. Miss Henshaw, the head librarian, is also the assistant volleyball coach. Mrs. Deborah Quade has been at Perry for eight years. She received her B.S. in education from Ohio University. She teaches vocational home economics. She is advisor of F.H.A. Mr. Gary L. Stevenson started teaching shorthand, typing and business law this year. He received his A.A.S., B.S. in education, and B.B.A. from Lakeland Community College and Kent State University. He is the J.V. girls’ 6 basketball coach. ft

They Were Grads. . . Once. Mr. Lou DiDonato teaches American history and government, and has taught here for three years. He took his B.S. and M.A. degrees in education'from Youngstown State University. Mr. Di-Donato is our J.V. basketball coach, student council advisor, and coach of the cross country team. Carol S. Matchinga started teaching English at Perry this year. She received her B.A. degree in English from Lake Erie College. Mrs. Matchinga is also the senior class advisor. Helen K. Villard has taught English and French at Perry for three years. She received her B.S. degree in education and B.S. degree in clothing and textiles from Bowling Green State University and Michigan State University. Mrs. Villard is advisor of the yearbook, the TREASURE CHEST, and advisor of the French Club. Miss Ann Doughten teaches Art in our school. She received her B.A. degree of fine arts from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. She has taught here for two years. Miss Doughten is also the advisor of Art Club. Mr. John Baker has taught here five years. He teaches bookkeeping, general business, economics, and sociology. He coaches the varsity basketball team and is the Key Club advisor. He received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and master’s degree from Youngstown State University. Mr. Gary Combs has taught industrial arts and drivers education at Perry for two years. He received his B.A. degree in industrial arts from Lakeland Community College and Kent State University. Mr. Thomas Chew has taught special education and social studies for four years. He received his B.A. degree in sociology and Certificate in Special Education after attending Cleveland State University. Mr. Charles Swogger has been teaching at Perry for two years. He directs choir and Buccaneers. Mr. Swogger received his B.S. in education from Case Western Reserve University, and his master’s degree in education from Xavier University. He is golf and freshmen basketball coach. 5

Mr. Charles M. Kiess has taught English at Perry for two years. He received his B.S. in education from Ohio State University. Mr. Kiess also helps coach football and track. Mrs. Sherry Lann taught home economics at Perry High for five months when Mrs. Quade was on leave of absence. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Kent State University. Miss Christine Stettner started teaching math at Perry this year. Miss Stettner received a minor in elementary education from Bowling Green State University. She is also the sophomore class advisor. Mrs. Ruth Bollntan teaches Spanish. She graduated from Grace College in Indiana. This is Mrs. Bollman’s first year. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree. Mr. Richard Furman has taught science for five years. He received his B.S. and master’s degree in environmental science biology from Kent State and Cleveland State University. He is the coach of the J.V. wrestlers. Mr. Jack Huxel started teaching industrial arts and math at Perry seven years ago. He received his master’s degree in technical education from Kent State University. Mr. Huxel is also head wrestling coach. Mr. Philip Casella, our assistant principal, also teaches production journalism. This class produces the school newspaper, THE PERISCOPE. Mr. Casella received his M.S. in education from Youngstown State University. Mr. Edward Walters has taught biology at Perry for five years. He attended Baldwin Wallace where he received his B.S. degree. He is the advisor of the Rifle Club. Mr. Brian Dorr has taught instrumental music at Perry for five years. He attended Mount Union College. He is currently involved in a Master’s program at the University of Akron. He is the director of the pep, marching, and concert bands. Mr. Mark Lomasney started teaching history and psychology this year. He received his B.A. in social studies from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. He helps coach football and wrestling. 7
