Although likeably lively, he takes government, politics, and education seriously and always demands an opinion from his students on political matters. A staunch Democrat, he believes that it is not the Republicans but the fencesitting independents who should be outlawed. He never lets us forget that we are young adults whose duty it is to take an active part and interest in our nation's affairs. Th winning team was composed of Seniors Bill Voige, the team’s cap tain, and Sallv Dugan, and Junior Tom Lipps. These three, together with their alternates Carmen Zampini, Santo Padula, and Sharon Fries, all Seniors, and faculty advisor Mr. Charles Cooper, traveled to the studios of WEWS-TV (Channel 5) in Cleveland on Monday evening, November 16 for the taping of the program. There the three competing teams received final instructions and suggestions and went through a brief rehearsal of the opening of the program as WEWS crewmen readied the set and made final technical adjustments for the recording of the program. A game of “It’s Academic consists of three rounds of questions and a grab bag” session. In the first two rounds each team is given one or one and one-half minutes to answer up to ten questions each ot which, if answered correctly, is worth ten points. In the third round, the teams are again given a certain amount of time during which up to ten questions may be answered; however, in this round, the teams may double” the point-value of each question. This process of “doubling” gives each correctly answered question a value of twenty points. The grab bag” portion of the ;ame comes after the third round. volume sets, Gateway to the Grea Books. All during the thirty-minut game, the teams were cheered o: by an enthusiastic audience com posed of interested students an adults who had tickets to the pro gram.
