read about the noted Dr. Richard Spring, president of Harvard University, who has kindly consented to give the graduation address at his old high school, in Perry, Ohio. Janet Sweet—This girl's skill at a typewriter always amazes us. Undoubtedly she is the best typewriter whiz in old Perry High. Janet can do all her own typing at double-quick time, then do her boy friend's, and still have time left over. This convinces us all the more that she will be a real success at her chosen career as a private secretary. Ernest Szaniszlo—We're expecting to find Ernest in the big city in a few years. He'll be getting along just fine in something complicated in mechanics. Mechanical engineering happens to be Ernest's dream for the future, and we want to wish him loads of luck for a successful career. Thelma Terry—Irrepressible Terry has wanted to study art ever since she was in the sixth grade. So that's just what she is going to do. But somehow, we have a suspicious feeling that her natural bent will express itself in cartooning. What about it, Thelma? Arthur Warren—Arthur's in love! Girls? Nope— cows. Arthur's great ambition for the future is to own absolutely the best herd of Guernsey cows

Cleo Phillips—Here comes Rosie the Riveter. Or should we call her Cleo the Riveter? This member of our class seems to think that her main dish is to be found in a factory, so she's not going to waste any time in getting there. In a few short years, we'll be hearing about Cleo Phillips, the great woman factory owner, who started as a humble riveter. Catherine Rhoades—Dynamic Katie insists that she's going to be a WAAC. She doesn't know just how she's going to get around the age limit, but she's sure she will manage somehow. And it there's ever such a thing as a woman general, that will be Kate. We'll remember her as Catherine Rhoades, the woman Napoleon. Edna Skinner—Secretarial work is Edna's ambition. The efficient way in which she is secretary to the teachers makes us sure that she will succeed. But here's one little warning, Edna. Better stay off the Boss's lap. Ruth Smith—Dress designing is Ruth's hope for the future. She's really going places in this career, if we can judge her by those gorgeous styles she is always drawing in Sociology class. Dick Spring—Dick's not sure about his future career, but we've figured out what we think he ought to do. A college presidency would be just right for him. Someday the old class of 1943 will

in the country. Who knows? Maybe he'M become famous by breeding the celebrated purple cow we have heard so much about. Betty Werner—A receptionist's position is Betty's hope for the future. Someday we will walk into some important office and find a poised and efficient Betty in charge. We really believe that she will attain her goal, for Betty has everything that is needed for her chosen career.
