A.-3 Varsity Club-3 Football-3 Class History As the Class of 58 lined up at the starting line We wondered just how much lay ahead of us. Because it was important to have support and leaders we elected class officers and sponsors. Our President was Carolyn Wilson, Vice President, Mike Bachelderg Secre- tary, David West, and Treasurer, Judy Rae Watkins. VVhen Carolyn Wilson moved away, Mike Bachelder became President and Jack Bo tsford, Vice President. Our sponsors were Mr. Harold Dunn and Mr. Jack Lambert. During the first quarter we participated in bake and fudge sales, a paper drive, a roll- er skating party. a class party, a Christmas skit, and we had our candidates for King and Queen of the Penny Carnival. Our candidates were Jane Wyman and Dick Lewis. Heading for the half-way mark we again elected class officers and sponsors. Our of- ficers were President, Mary Jo McDevittg Vice President, Dick Lewisg Secretary, Bonnie White: and Treasurer, Ruth Ann Reynolds. Our sponsors were Mr. Lee Swartz and Mr. John Robinson. In our effort to reach the half-way mark we participated in a roller skating party, a Halloween party, dances, cake walks, and We made pom poms. With the half-way mark behind us and the three-quarter mark ahead, we elected our officers and selected our sponsors. Our officers were President, Wallace Schmidtg Vice President, Charles Kieslingg Secretary, Janet Bjornsethg and Treasurer, Becky O'Bierne. Our sponsors were Mr. Robert Snyder and Mr. William Parker. Our play was entitled The Magic Touch, and was about a girl who played football. Our Junior-Senior Prom theme was Deep Purple. We decorated the gym- nasium in purple and lavender, and lilacs were spread about the gym. We ended our Junior year with a flurry and anxiously waited for the final dash to the finish line. As we entered the last quarter of the race we elected our officers: President. Richard Spaldingg Vice President, Gwen Faughtg Secretary, Jane Wymang Treasurer, Janet Bjorn- seth: Assistant Treasurer, Sheila Dutcher. Our sponsor was Mr. McDevitt. Our activities included the concession stand, the candy store at the games, dances, and during school, a slave sale, the donkey basketball game, bake sales, and the Senior Play and the Christmas Sno-Ball. Our Senior Play was entitled Paint the Town Pink and in- volved the running of a high school by a group of Senior students. Our Christmas Sno-Ball theme was Silver Bells and the gym was done in blue and silver. Heading for the finish line we encountered our most memorable experience. On May 22, we left on our trip to New York. Our activities never lagged. On May 26, we returned home and anxiously waited for the final dash. Un June 1. Baccalaureate made the finish line much closer. Finally, our goal was reached: Graduation Day! On June 3, 1958, we attained our most wanted goal. Know- ledge is the treasure, but practice is the key to it. Last Will and Testament We the class of 58 wish to present our Last Will and Testament to all other class- men. After two straight years of reigning as the conference champions in baseball the Perry Ramblers lost their crown last year to the Ovid Romans. This year the Ramblers are building their team around seven veterans which they hope will bring the Baseball Championship back to Perry this year and for years to follow. Last year the Perry Track team Won every meet until the Conference Meet at Owosso and then they lost out by just 1X2 of a point. Last season many veterans graduated and so we are short of experience this year. But with all the underclassmen on the team this year we will try to Win the Conference Meet on a team balance because we do not have any outsanding individuals this year.
