Auf La Perry opened the season by traveling to Monessen for an exhibition game, Where the Commodores, though hopelessly outelassed, played Well despite the lopsided 40-0 defeat. XVith the city league season about to begin, many of the people connected with the team were optimistic as to the Commodores' chances. These dreams, however, lasted only until the first city game when Langley clob- hered Perry, 62-0. The shock of such a terrible defeat seemed to have a lingering effect, and Perry never recovered until the second half of the final game of the season. Before recover- ing, the Commodores lost to Allegheny in a mud bowl, 13-0, and to Gladstone in a riot interrupted game, 13-7. The Perry eleven also lost to Oliver, 45-0, and to Fifth Avenue, 26-0. Perry lost the final game of the season to Carrick, 25-13, but while losing, the team ajelledf, Perry trailed 25-0 at half time, but in the second half the Commodores clearly outplayed Carrick and perhaps gave a hint as to how the team will perform next season. ..5...J Fifth Avenueys halfhack breaks through for a crucial first down in the second quarter of the Perry-Fifth Avcnuc tilt.
