Page Four Foreword We, the classes of '55 and '56, present this yearbook as our final contribution to our Alma Mater. We have changed the name of our book from Perryscope,' to Commodore',. This change ends the confusion between our yearbook and our newspaper, both of which have been called the Perryscope for many years. The following pages, filled with memories of work and play, help us to tell this story - our story. Dedication We, the crew of the Perry Commodore, have had a stirring adventure during our four years at sea. Now, as we walk down the gangplank, we recall the many incidents we have shared on this voyage. At the helm of the ship were our captain, Mr. D. R. Douglass, and our executive officer, Mr. Homer Sutherland, whose untiring and patient guidance helped us weather many storms. To pilot our ship, there has also been the faculty in- terested that every class and activity should sail along smoothly under expert navigation. Mr. Hoerger, the log keeper, has always been ready to chart our courses and anchor us firmly in our studies. We remember also those others who have labored and provided for our comfort. As our cruise draws to a close, we leave this our log to the succeeding senior crew and embark to explore further. We hope our new ship will prove as seaworthy and reliable as did the Perry Commodore.
