v . .k, CLASS IIISTURY AS FRESHMEN- We came to Perry from McNaugher in 9-B. Mrs. Yockey became our homeroom teacher and gently led us through our orientation. We tried hard to look as though we belonged, but only time could erase the bewildered look from our faces. Soon, to our surprise, Junior School officers were chosen from our class, and now as 9-Ais we made our home in 110 under Miss Blayney- During our first year at Perry we talked about:- Milroy-Ifll look like an old student if it kills me-I don't see how they know we're freshmen- I didn't want to take general science in the first place-But Mrs. Yockey, I still don't know how much x is-uVision of Sir Launfalgv That's a book, Miss Dickey?-Why did I wait until the last night to read Ivanhoe?-But they told me the Senior rode in elevators. AS SOPHOMORES- We entered into the Senior School ioyfully. We moved to 220, which was to be ours for eternity, or till graduation if youid rather. And we were talking about:- Senior Assemblies-Senior Council--220, But that room is at the end of the earth-The funny freshmen-Biology tests, Did he say eight at once? I'll die-The Sophomore Slump-Minus points-Adsum or is it Absesse? I..atin's a dead language anyhow-A-S-D-F and ,I-K-L-g and Where did she hide the extra typing paper?-- What's a circle, Mr. Buker-Foobtall games-But Mr. Irons, lim positive I have acromegaly. AS .I UN IORS- We emerged from our Sophomore year with slow, really Perryites now. In 11A Mr. Berry replaced Miss Waddell as our home room teacher and sud- denly we discovered that the school hadn't forgotten us. Members of our class were nominated for Vice President and taken into National Honor Society. Then we were talking about:- Our stars on the swimming team-I'm going to limit the nights I go out and really study this semester, Honest, this time I really mean it- Those huge English books-Bookkeeping prob- lems, But the assets don't equal the liabilities- Our debate on Jet planes-The Latin students who had their marks lowered from A to C-Our C0-Ed Volley Ball games 5th period-Put the water in before you put the H2SO4-You mean we have Hygiene every day!- Gaily Bedight, A Gallant Knightv-You donit speak shorthand, silly-Ben Franklin was the biggest egotist. AS SENIORS- Worldly and wise, we entered our Senior year. We had our Prom at the South Hills Country Club in June with the class of ,5l. We also shared their Senior Play. Our class had diminished to 26 and before we knew it our plans for graduation were made. In our last year we were talking about:- The Prom-The Senior Play, Well, maybe we donit have the leads but-Home room meetings- Dinner Dance-Christmas Cards-Class Day- Themes-Charleston-'LTO be or not to be - College-Just 26-Bogi Club-Graduation Pic- tures, Do I really look like that?-O. E- Class, How Now Brown Cow -The Presidential Elec- tion-But Miss Anderson, I never heard of Keats until I saw his name on the test-School Spirit- You the graduating Class of '52-Just 228 more hours--Tears-Laughter-Goodbye, Perryg It's been wonderful. tired footsteps, but our wings were won.
