IOURNALISM CLASS The journalism class of Perry High had a two-fold purpose this year. They were concerned with editing a weekly page in the Perry Daily Chief throughout the year They had several responsibilities which had to be met in order to put out their pub lication every Tuesday First they had to dig up all the stories they could ThlS was taken care of by the two news editors w o were appointed for three week terms e stories were then assigned to reporters wit a Monday morning deadline All copy Back row Bert Bailey anet Barnes Doris Hastie Homer ohnson Donna Skin ner Gertrude Walch erry Bills Mr Ross man Second Row Annie Brewer Phyllis Airhart Mary Tteulen oyce Bresee Bar was then checked for accuracy by a copy- reader who also wrote a head fo the story The proofreaders had the final check before the paper went to press Also as a class they had the respon sibillty of publishing this annual Usually there have been two staffs Telital and An HUB The executive committee for the an nual was Bert Bailey Shirley Bloomburg and Frances Parker bara Woods Pat South Killeen Diddy Shir ley Bloomburg Front Row Betty Thomason Frances Parker oanne Walrath Vernas ohns Barbara Parker Marilyn Fisher Lavon ensen , , l' h ' - .
