Perry Central Takes Pride in This Years rchestra The membership of the orchestra is made up of all string players and selected wind and percussion players from the Symphonic Band. During the year the orchestra is busy preparing for both the Thanksgiving and Christmas programs, playing at various other concerts, providing concerts for several elementary schools, contributing to the spring concert and participating in the solo and ensemble contest. The officers are: Captain, Ruthellen Stegemillerg First Lieutenant, Debbie Riley, Second Lieutenant, Anne Hensley, Master Sergeant, Dan I-Iiggensg Technical Sergeant, Jeff Nay, First Sergeant, Midge Kisslingg Second Sergeant, Elden Hartman. P.C. Band and ajorettes arch Enthusiastically The Symphonic Band is composed of the more advanced instrumentalist. Throughout the year they provide music for convocation, add color to the basketball games, march at football games, contricute to the annual spring concert, participate in solo and ensemble contest, and exchange concerts with another school. The op- portunity to play in the band gives students a well rounded experience in musicianship and a chance to use their talents. Mr. Iverson is the director. li The 'GCN Band and Varsity la 21 Big Role at P.C. The main purpose of the seventh grade band is to further training and experience of its members. Di- rected by Mr. Iverson, the band plays at the spring concert and takes part in solo and ensemble contest. Its officers are: Captain, Jim Coryellg First Lieuten- ant, Robin Boggs 5 Second Lieutenant, Mark Mobley, Master Sergeant, Don Beemang Technical Sergeant, Bill Schmalfeldtg First Sergeant, Jean Sanderson, Sec- ond Sergeant, Duane Sorrells. The Varsity Band under the direction of Mr. Iverson marches with the Symphonic Band at football games, participates at solo and ensemble contest, and also plays at the spring concert. This band furthers the musical training of its members.
