Students Explore Their Language English is a required subject for all grades. The subject is divided into two parts. One part being literature, the other grammar. In literature the students read poetry and short stories. This helps the individual understand what he has read. The gram mar is necessary for one to improve his communication with other people. Spelling is also taught. This subject helps the student to spell basic and important words. 26 D

Future Homemakers Stud and Learn Home Economics dl, Top: A seventh grade cooking class. Middle: Eighth grade girls lay out their patterns. Right: Freshmen sew their dresses. The home economics department teaches girls how to become a proper homemaker. The seventh grade girls learn the basics in cooking. Eighth grade girls learn sewing fundamentals, and the freshmen who chose home economics have a semester of each. Every semester the girls put on a fashion show for the mothers and teachers. The cooking classes prepare re- freshments for the sixth grade orientation program each spring. :Ei mlb 28
