.1 Explore the Unknown in Science Seventh and eighth grade students were required to take science. The freshmen had a choice of earth science or biology because one year of science is needed for high school graduation. Either course would be acceptable. Among the topics discussed in the classes were en- ergy, geology, matter, and anatomy. fx ,,, 1 Top: The eighth grade science class is studying and experimenting with the different stages of matter. Above: The freshmen biology class is observing the division of plant and animal cells. Left: The seventh grade student is learning the different ways of weighing matter.

Students Explore Their Language English is a required subject for all grades. The subject is divided into two parts. One part being literature, the other grammar. In literature the students read poetry and short stories. This helps the individual understand what he has read. The gram mar is necessary for one to improve his communication with other people. Spelling is also taught. This subject helps the student to spell basic and important words. 26 D
