They came in with a bang in their sophomore year by winning first place for their Homecoming float The Untouchables Their junior year brought headaches to the seniors. It seems that the bench was gone from Senior Court most of the time, or it was gaily decorated. But, as seniors, they discouraged such activities by their underclassmen, by building a new steal-proof bench as one of their unforgettable contributions. And now, they have made their last year here one of THE most spirited in our history. Their year started off by their winning first place on their Homecoming float entitled, Happiness Is Childhood Fantasies. Then the class sponsored a successful victory dance for the entire Student Body. They ended this memorable year with the Junior-Senior Prom which will be remembered by all who attended. The class of 1969 has spent a very successful two years at Perris and are looking forward to their final year with many hopes and plans for their class and their school. Entering as they did with such pep and determination to win the favor of die school, few were heard to criticize them as unworthy under- classmen. The Sophomores, during football season, showed a good deal of pep by winning the spirit stick the first time it was offered at a pep rally. They also exemplified great athletic ability by having a good number of their male members represented on both the X ' arsity and Junior Varsity football teams. In ordering class rings and building a float for Homecoming, the Sophs fell inti ' the hectic pattern of high school life. They will certainly be lively Juniors and worthy Seniors when the time arrives; and we anticipate, as they do, a groovy future at P.H. S. The theme, Happiness is. . . was carried out in the designs of the floats, in the various activities, and in the general atmosphere of school. During the week preceeding the game, the students partici- pated in Bermuda Day, Happi- ness is. . . . Day, and a giant bonfire. The parade was held on Fri- day afternoon. Here the students proudly displayed the product of their many hours of hard work, their floats. The Seniors de- scribed their idea of happiness as graduation. The Juniors float carried out an animated idea of happiness as Childhood Fantasies . The Sophomores float described happiness as a winning football team. The Friday night game was not as successful as everyone had hoped yet the blow was softened by the ments and activities at half time. The sweepstakes float was the Seniors while the Junior class took first classes. The 1967-68 Homecoming Queen was Patti Rund, a Senior. After the game there was a dance by the Student Council. As one reflects on this Homecoming, memories of many happy times are brought to mind and it can of as the best one Perris has ever seen. announce - place in sponsored be thought Qnowball Each year the G.
