Lambert JflpR- ' - - iflH M ■.1 ' I PomjmJj Today we stand, together, facing our good times and our difficult times. We have behind us a childhood in which we were de- pendent upon others for our needs. We be- gan going to school, and there we found that responsibility was slowly being handed to us. We were forming new goals, ideals, and view points. As we continued we came to a new period of time where adulthood seemed much closer to us than childhood. We began to know ourselves better than we had known ourselves before. But most of all, we found that facing our new - found life was much easier and more enjoyable if we had each other. We began to look to each other for help and guidance. Tomorrow is still in our future but through careful preparation and study, com- bined with our new growth and understanding, we can be prepared to face, together, our NEW HORIZONS. Tabk 4 COiife tfeS : D dtScaiUm It is a tradition of the students of this high school to dedicate their annual to a person whom they feel has contributed more than their share of time and effort to the interest and welfare of Perris High and its students. This year we feel that the person who is most deserving has not only been an out- standing teacher, but also an excellent advisor. She has greatly contributed to the betterment and moral standards of Perris High ' s students. In conclusion, we extend special thanks for her guidance in making this annual possible. We dedicate this years ' s El Perrisito to you, Miss Day. M Mm VIRGIN ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK Virgin Islands Established l ' J56 Area : 9. 503 acres ADMINISTRATION P l4tCAj aJ8 Mr. James A. This was the skit in the Western Rally. This is what we call a leisurly activity, and these are active people. All aboard! The Annual Staff took a field trip. Our Senior Class sponsored a tremendous bake sale. Oh pain! , says Mr. Van Hove. Something is pricking me. Our band marches splendidly in our homecoming parade. Roman Council (plotting against the boy Romans probably), Quite a view of the noon -time rally from where we were! Is this a SENIOR activity? Guess it ' s just the boys that act so grown-up around here. And you want to be able to vote at 18 yrs. , Danny? This was one of the discussion groups that met daily at Camp Lawler last summer. Remember all the fun, kids? It seems that we recall that there were troubles ranging from getting their hair messed up to trying to get the chest away from the door at 4:00 in the morning ! ! Do you recall any of this Jane and Julie ?? 61 Ou t QdiMi S BackboM You may think it wrong to put the custodians, cafeteria cooks, and bus drivers in the activity section; but, we see it differently. These people are the ones that make it possible to have activities, so what better place could they have ? The bus drivers drove the rooters ' busses to all of our ' way games. The cooks keep us going each day with the nutritious lunches they prepare. Without the custodians to keep our campus neat and clean we wouldn ' t have such a fine school of which to be proud. All our big dances are made possible with the help of our custodians. And who could ask for a more friendly group of people? A special thanks to these people ! ! Only the mighty Hemet Bulldogs could trample on our cunning Panthers. Under the direction and coaching of Frank Mahan, Head Coach, and Mr. CDoherty, Line Coach, they set a record which Penis has not known for years. The long, gruelling hours of practice every night did its magic when our Panthers opened up with all they had at the games. Perris also received an honor when Dave Randolph, one of our battling centers, was nom- inated to play in the North- South Shrine Game of Southern California. Never before have we had one of our players nominated for such an honor. A Panther roar to you, Dave Randolph. Our Varsity worked hard all year for a goal they rightly deserved. But, when news came that second-place teams did not get to go to the CIF play-offs, it struck a blow harder than any rival school could ever give them. It hit so hard that they almost fell back in the Perris-Elsinore game Elsinore being the team on the bottom this season. But, their pride rallied their spirits and they went on to another victory — showing us and everyone else that the Panthers could not be downed. It is the spirit, the feeling of belonging to your school, of working together. It is the time for alumni to return, to enjoy once again the fresh spirit of life found only in high school. But we will not forget the game, the parade, and the dance. For without these we could not have a successful week. Monday was Color Day, and our school was ablaze with its colors. Green and White, Tuesday was Slave Day, and many girls sported the jersey of a football player. Wednesday everyone dressed according to the theme of the week, Roman Holiday, and we were a mass of white sheets! ! Thursday was spent putting finishing touches on our floats; many Seniors stayed up until 4:00 in the morning finishing their float. And Friday was the big day! The parade began at 3:00 in the afternoon, and the Sweepstakes trophy went to the Senior Class prize float, The Fountain of Trevi, Junior and Sophomore classes tied for First in Class, and Science Club came in first in the organiza- tion division. The game was a wild one, and we trampled San Jacinto with a score of 6-0, Following, was the dance; and everyone agreed that we had a very successful week , , . one that will never be forgotten ! !
