Tennis girls goT in several monThs oT pracTice beTore The rain puT a sTop To Tennis. WiTh Tennis ouT oT The guesTion, They Toolc To baslceTball, which The gym girls were now also playing. This very naTurally resulTed in a play-oTT beTween The gym girls and The Tennis girls. In TacT, They played Two games, The TirsT according To boys' rules. ResulTs: Tennis girls, 27, and Gym girls, 3. The second game, played according To girls' rules, The Tennis girls also won wiTh a score oT I2-6. Then came some down-To-earTh Tennis pracTicing. This year Skipper really had some winners in his inTer-school Tennis TournamenT. Marie STeen Toolc The winner's Trophy in The singles, wiTh Genevieve STewarT close on her heels. These Two girls are TirsT and second singles respecTively Tor our school. The Beginning OrchesTra provided The ground worlc, and a varieTy oT insTrumenTs such as brasses, reeds and sTrings were available To any sTudenT inTeresTed in musical knowledge. During The pasT year our OrchesTra has given programs Tor The Lions Club meeTings, The P.-TA. and combined wiTh The band and played Tor The Seniors' graduaTion. Our songbirds, The chorus, have parTicipaTed in assemblies, Girls' League and P.-TA. meeTings. During The laTTer parT oT The year, The chorus gave iTs annual concerT, which, by The way, was a greaT success. The band was really in The groove This year. These swell musicians played Tor assemblies, a home TooTball game, and They Traveled To Elsinore To parTicipaTe wiTh The Elsinore band. The baslcerball games were pepped up, Too, by The band. The Parris SwingsTers have Turnished dance music aTTer some OT The baslceTball games, and Tor several dances, They Toolq The place oT recorded melodies. An improvemenlr, Tool The SwingsTers are several members oT The band, and a Tew oT The local musicians. Thanlcs To Them, and Miss Spiller, our dances were really super.
