' N' 1 ' ' -e-. -1-zx4-.e-l.1f.x,eS.f- -un.u5l:aersd:x::- ga..-aI.1A - ..,,..-f. - 1::IiSQ25:2lIiSEQg:IlIiSS5IkfZZill:2227illn:Q5275lII:' Senior Class History In the fall of the yeer nineteen hundred thirty eight, year of memorlwble achievements, a straggllng group of overgrown, roudy adcles cent boys and girls, fo the first time, ventur ed to sign th dr names to the Record Books of Perrin High School Du lng the couxse of the year this str gllng group met great obstacles, but due to some inewplicwble cause every name was celled when the Professor read the sophomore roll Ah, here is where the fun started' Although the memories of our year as abused, under prlvl ledged freshmen were still vividly imbedded in our consciousness, we faithfully served those reg 1 juniors and seniors, but only because we knew eventually we would attain the honor of sitting at the great banquet tables instead of snltching in the Kitchen However, we were no longer lreshmen end our enjoyment of this a chievenent so red to gr ater heights than we thoxght possible Pad so we became juniors' As we look back to that yesr we see 2 continuous string of plays, partles, benoue , dinners, track meets, and by winners from the funior class From the group that sta ted to High School in thirty eight there d velop d some beautiful girls and some decidedly interesting boys Then came the time that we de cided to reveal our hidden talent Jo Beth Blain was the first one to be unveiled in a contest for Queen of the Halloween Carnival She won over a'l end escorted by thqt intriguing blond, Billy Fred Browr ruled without opnosition Prepsra tlons for the 'unior senior b nquet caused quite e lot of vor: lut we can find amusement in any thlng me do Our pleasure was too great for words to expres when we finally sat down to the locded banquet tables and were waited uoon by dainty UlT1S bearing aromatic dishes from the Home Ee kitchen q5S:.F Xw,Xif W 3, F L - Q C . 11 if' The dramatic talent of our class was re vealed when the curtains were pulled and lights were directed on the ast of WThe Qrtie of Andrew N Vernon Brock and R L Cianfo d por T trayed such feminitg in their dresse and wigs that the play was trulf a sue ess At last the tim. are wlen we could look down upon all the rest of odi Pigh School stu dents and we rather engoyed tuis priviledge As seniors ou1 goal wa almost in ieach of our eager hands rpain we ruled at the Hallowe n Carnival and the beauty disclosed was De Lois Patton R L Cranford led her to the throne from which she gave command with a dimpled smile Our social activities for the year have been varied A trip to the innual State Fair at Dalles began vhen we 1 ft Perrin at four A M in anticipation of 1 visit to the Eirly Birds' radio program before proceedin to the grounds Th Oklihoma Texas football and the Ice Capide of '42 were the main ctions We enjoyed a Kid party, a Hallo , ind a Christmas party Our semi p1CnlC turned out to be a hamburger inst id of 1 Weiner roast The binquet was given us by the Junior wa cirried cheduled and we had 1 hilarious time first time we were gue ts instead of or waiters then camo the day Commencement no longer member in good stinding alma mater - but we were informed sad yet long desired moments fleet- faced a hazy but hopeful future in the tomorrow.
