H. T. HISTORY The Perrin Chapter Future Homemakers of Texas was organized in 1958. The following presidents have presided since the organiza- tion of the club: Leta Hill, 1958-l959g Anna Dale McLaurin, 1939-19403 Jo Beth Blain, 1940- l941g and Annie Ruth Robbins, 1941-1942. This branch of the F.'H. T. was developed to bring about more interest in the field of Home Economics. Under the guidance of Mrs. MCLaurin as sponsor, the group enjoys parties, field trips, rallies, banquets. and other social and edu- cational functions. The organization has had an average of approximately 25 members. The members are eligible from the Home Economics Department only. With the aid of boys from high school, the girls gave a play to finance their first Mother-Daughter Banquet. This laid the foun- dation for an annual Mother-Daughter Banquet. This was discontinued this year because of the. present national emergency. There is a double purpose in this or- ganization. Firstly, it gives th students an opportunity for leadership, seif-improve- ment, and the value of organization. Secondly, it lays a perfect foundation for a successful home life in the future. This little group has greatly enjoyed the work done in the organization, and appre- oiates its benefits. HE:rfz2Fl::nu2QZ2::nr' g 1-n:SSiS:g-n. 1-E- T fa. G Nf Illb ' DY PTI! ix-L If .I.
