FUTURE HOMEMAKERS OF AMERICA ,A Members of the Future Homemakers of America were involved in several activities this year, Members of the club attended the FHA District Rally and the State Convention. They sold iron-on patches and candy ap- ples, made favors for residents in rest homes, and en- tered the Hertford Christmas parade. Q, 1 Shelly Nowell demonstrates cooking techniques. N6 FHA Officers of the club are: President- Diane Overton, Vice-President - Sue Key, Secretary - Connie Rucker, Treasurer - Betty Spruill, Historian - Rena Copeland, Parliamentarian - Angel Skinner, and Reporter - Shelly Rucker. Mrs. Stubbins and Mrs. White are the advisors. Members participate in Christmas parade.

FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA The Future Farmers of America is one of the most active organizations at PCHS. The FFA placed represen- tatives in various contests district-wide, including Forestry, Land judging, Parliamentary Procedure, Creed, Extemporaneous Public Speaking, Public Speak- ing, Tool Identification, and Livestock Judging. The winner of the FFA Sweetheart Contest was Brenda Pierce. She represented the local chapter well at the Federation Contest at Northeastem High School. For more information about these contests, see page 92. Members also attended the N.C. State Fair, Districtl , 'nil' SZTVQC .l Leadership Workshop, District I Rally, State Conven- tion, and other field trips. Magazine sales helped to finance these activities. Officers of the club are: President - Ricky Owens, Vice-President - Michael Cartwright, Secretary - Charlie White, Treasurer - Randy Winslow, Reporter - jack Dail, and Sentinel - Elton Layden. Albemarle Federation Officers who are members of the local chap- ter are President- Ricky Owens and Secretary - Mark Stevenson. Mr. Copeland and Mr, Riddick are advisors of the chapter. GUIDANCE CLUB I I .5 .-. iw-.. it .13 The Guidance Club scheduled several in- teresting topics that were discussed in group counseling sessions this year. They under- took several fund-raising projects to sponsor the club president's trip to Washington, D.C. in order to participate in the Presidential Classroom Program. The club took its annual educational tour of Washington, D.C. in the lgttgper: - spring. One of the major activities of the club is sponsorship of the Freshman Orientation Day. Officers of the club are: President - Cynthia Wills, Vice-President - Cheryl Parker, Secretary - Wendy Walton, and Treasurer - Freda Vaughn. Advisor is Mr. Midgette.
