98 Track I , K rw., , PCHS wishes to commend the track team for the fine work they did during the 1978 season. We would like to mention the top five scorers of the season: Charlie Sut- ton - 80 points: Chris Peckham - 78112 points: Bobby Tolson - 73112 points: Larry Honeyblue - 71 pointsg and Mike Holley - 69 points. We congratulate Bobby Tolson for being undefeated throughout the season and also for setting a new school record for the mile run. His time for the new record was 4: 39.6. Bobby also quali- fied to participate in the regional playoffs for the junior Olympics. Congratulations to the other school record setters: Larry Honeyblue in the 440 yard dash: Nate Carson, Mike Holley, Charlie Sutton, and Larry Hon- eyblue in the mile relayg and Chris Peckham in the pole vault. We congratulate Mr, Webster for taking the team on to be the conference champions for 1978. The team won with a score of 84 points, 22Vz points above the second place team from Currituck.

The 1978 girls' softball team, under the direction of a new coach, Mrs. Carolyn Rogers, had a pretty unbalanced year Congratulations to Lynn Hurdle and Sarah Nixon on the scoreboard. The team won only five out of fourteen were named to the All-Conference team. Bonnie games, however, they still showed great potential. wood received Honorable Mention. The team voted Six seniors spearheaded the team and even though their Hurdle as most valuable player, and Mary Wood Hurdle talent will be missed, the remaining freshmen should take the most improved. Sarah Nixon had the highest b up the slack. average.
