The largest and probably most popular musical organization is the mixed chorus consisting of 85 members. Membership was based on a vocal tryout which was given by Mr. Lanyon. The chorus sang the two contest numbers, Hymn To The Virgin and Jesus On The Waterside. It received a superior at the S.P.V.A. music festival. The chorus is called upon for Christmas programs, various Concerts, and for baccalaureate. Hors Octet Left to Right: VV. Nomer. D. VVykert. C. Collier. F. Schrotberger. W. Cun- ninilham. G. Firlewme. D. Erlewine, C. Mutchie. We had a revival of boys octet this year. This group sang num- bers of all types including ballads. love songs. and soul stirring marches. The organization was Well received by various organ- izations in Grant. Girls Sexfef Iieft to Right: P. Sullivan. A. Misner. M. Mollcr. R. Stout, M. Wallin. Il. Gloy. Boats of Mine and A Pray- er were the numbers sung by this group. which was selected from the Mixed Chorus. They re- ceived a superoir rating at the S.P.V.A. contest. -1111-

It adds a flash and a color to high school activities that only a band can. As a concert organization it appeared throughout the year at various public performances. Much favorable comment was received on the new flashy uniforms. It received a superior at the S.P.V.A. contest. if 'k 'k 'A' The orchestra made a brilliant comeback this year The group is small but in spite of this fact it was rated superior at the S.P.V.A. music festival, and received a great deal of favorable comment from the judges.
