She began sponsoring the society in l979, two years after the program officially began at Julian. When asked about her present members, she comments that she loves them all and is really proud of their accomplishments. She enjoys being a sponsor, and encourages all future NHS candidates to work hard, have lots of activities, and try hard to attain strong leadership qualities .
