Mr Donald Prenttss Mr Prentiss has worked at Percy L Julian H S for lO years As a student he attended Macmtyre Elementary Bowman 1-hgh Tuga loo University IIT Chicago State Llnwersl ty and University of Illinois Circle His ambl tlons were to become either an Aeronautical Engtneer or a Mathematics teacher Fortu nately for us he chose the teaching profes sion He began his career teaching math ematically deficient students and had planned to teach only 3 years, but he began to enyoy his iob and continued teaching He now teaches computer programming wzth math and science appltcattons His goal as a teacher ts to bring students up to level in math When asked how he viewed his life he replied l feel that l am successful, and I enjoy what l do but l am not as pleased with some aspects of the teaching profession namely the past contract dispute l also feel that teaching is not HS rewarding as it was an the past l-le acknowledges that students are stall trying to learn and still have the same goals. but they don t put enough time and energy into attaining them To all gradu atmg seniors he says Work hard and strive for your goals you may not see success right around the corner but sn due time suc cess will make itself known lg S J 'Lf ' ' M ' Q V T f ' F , ':, +A eg ,. ,Q 5 ig, I l A ,, K M M I Vg ri , v K A , . ,,, ,1, M sf Q.
