4- THOSE PRETTY GIRL y Valerie Hawkins, better known as Lil'Val, is a I7 yr. l old Arien who has been a member of the P.L.J. q colorguard squad for 8 years. During these years, ' she has had the pleasure of being a mascot, flag girl, drill instructor, co-captain and captain. Be- sides being a student council representative, of- fice aid, and senior class representative, Valerie enjoys bowling, shopping, acting and especially dancing. Following graduation she plans to attend Northern or Grambling State and major in nursing. To acquire membership to the squad one must be a Freshman or Sophomore and dedicated. ln con- clusion, Valerie states that lf you want to be something, never be afraid to strive hard to be it.
